Why do you need Garden Care?

• You are gone for vacation.
  When the garden is set correctly, the garden should survive for a while without your presence. But if you don’t want to take the chance coming home to a garden jungle, or finding out too late if some pests or disease have infested your garden, then call us.

• You love the benefit of having a beautiful kitchen garden, but do not want to deal with the heavy lifting.

• Change of season, time to overhaul the plants in the garden.

How often do you need Garden Care?

• Schedule single visits whenever you need - like when you are away for more than 2 weeks.

• Schedule a regular visit - suggested frequency is bi-monthly or once a month.

How long is a Garden Care session?

• We start with a consultation to assess your kitchen garden.

• Your Garden Care estimate is based on the size of the garden and how much work needs to be done.

• After each visit, you will receive a detailed report on our activity in your kitchen garden.

Who is doing the Garden Care?

Your garden will be cared personally by Kat. Each garden is treated as if her own. So rest assured, your kitchen garden is in good hands.

What’s covered and included in a garden visit?

Garden Care Basics:

• Harvesting - optional, of course, as this is the best part of kitchen gardening.

• Pruning - even the most vigorous growth needs pruning to improve air circulation and reduce chance of diseases.

• Organic Fertilizer/soil amendment - to ensure healthy plants and bountiful harvest.

• Pest management - only if needed, we use organic spray to address pest issues.

• Plant control - small plants staking, vine twining are needed as plants grow. If additional or replacement of support/trellis is needed we will consult you with options. Cost of trellis is not included.

• Plant replacement - anything can happen mid-season; either a fluke freeze or a heat wave, plant virus or other reasons. We will consult with you first about new plants. Cost of the plants is not included and will be planted on our next scheduled visit.

• Kitchen garden area clean up - because a beautiful and clean garden is more enticing to be in.

• Drip irrigation check - overtime emitters might get clogged or equipment is broken and have to be replaced. Materials cost is not included. Watering schedule also needs to be adjusted according to the season.

  *Drip irrigation is not optional in Blissful Growing kitchen garden design. Consistent watering is crucial to the success of a garden. If there is no automatic drip system installed yet, we can help you set it up as a separate project.

Garden Care by Request:

• Garden bed amendment - typically done in the beginning of new planting season, the nutrition in the soil needs to be replenished.

• Seasonal planting - changing out the plants from cold-hot season
