What is a Monarch Waystation? Think of it as an oasis for migrating monarch butterflies. A waystation is an area dedicated to help Monarch butterflies take refuge and breed during their migration. It is essentially a pollinator garden, rich with varieties of nectar producing plant, but in addition, it also has enough milkweed plants to support monarch butterflies breeding.
In this seminar, we will talk about creating a monarch waystation using guidelines by Monarch Watch.
I will also share with you tips on how to propagate milkweed that’s fast and easy, so you don’t run out of milkweed to feed the caterpillars - if you are raising them.
This is a casual meeting and we will be sitting outdoor under a tent. Even though we start early at 10 am, it will most likely get warm fast. So bring hydration, wear hats, etc.
We have limited space and only 20 chairs. Email kat@blissfulgrowing.com to reserve your spot and come early. In the previous seminar on Monarch, we have many walk-ins and seats are taken fast.
This free seminar is part of monthly garden classes by Blissful Growing at the Glendora Gardens nursery.
